Pinterest dessert

I finally got around to making a dessert I pinned on Pinterest.  I did tweak it because the night before we had a Smores pizza from Papa Murphy's.  Let me tell you that pizza is incredible.  I'm usually not a smores person but I could eat a whole one of those all by myself.

It's called Sopapilla Cheesecake and it sounds amazing all by itself and it's simple to make.  What else could I ask for?  Since I'm trying to be healthy I did cut down the sugar.  Here's the recipe from My Yellow Umbrella

Ingredients:
-3 cans pillsbury butter crescent rolls
-2 (8oz) packages cream cheese (softened)
-1 cup sugar
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1/4 cup butter (melted)
-Cinnamon & sugar

Instructions:
Unrolled and spread 1 & 1/2 can crescent rolls on bottom of un-greased pan. Combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Spread mixture over crescent rolls. Unroll and spread remaining crescent rolls over mixture. Spread melted butter over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes

I used the crescent roll sheets and I only used 2.  One for the bottom and one for the top.  I also cut the sugar down to 1/2 a cup.  When I spread the cream cheese and sugar mixture I sprinkled 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of brown sugar.  Then I sprinkled it with 1 tbsp of cinnamon.

I also didn't use any butter.  The crecent rolls have so much in them anyway I left it out.  When it came out of the oven I dusted it with powdered sugar.

Can I just say this dessert will become a staple in my house because it is AWESOME!  Even my picky little man ate some of it.  I really love Pinterest.

I really hope you make it and enjoy.

Happy New Year to all of you!

Christmas Leave

Can I just say this Christmas is probably going to be one of the bests if not the best Christmas I have ever had?   True our family is not here but Gabe is!  His leave wasn't supossed to be until February but it got changed again; this time for the better!!!  I thought my Mom was coming up here after Christmas but she was just playing along with Gabe   Those two started scheming and let me believe she was coming up here when it was really Gabe.  I do have to say my husband is really amazing.  What a great Christmas present!

He sent me a bouquet of flowers and a card telling me he was on his way home.  We love Mad Gab so he wrote the note in that style and I had to figure it out.

Then I didn't get to talk to him for a few days so I wasn't really sure what was going on.  When I did get to talk to him he told me what was going on and I started smiling and I haven't stopped.  He got in late Saturday night.

We were told it would take a couple of days for Grayson to warm up to him but thank goodness it didn't.  After about 5 minutes of seeing Gabe and us doing some family hugs, Grayson decided he wanted his Dad to hold him.  He didn't really smile that big adorable smile of his but you could tell he was happy to see his Daddy.  I was holding him while Gabe went to the bathroom and Grayson started pointing toward it and calling Daddy.  Those two have a special bond.  I'm getting left out right now!  I wouldn't have any other way though.

The next two weeks are going to be amazing.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family up here in the North Pole!
