Pinterest dessert

I finally got around to making a dessert I pinned on Pinterest.  I did tweak it because the night before we had a Smores pizza from Papa Murphy's.  Let me tell you that pizza is incredible.  I'm usually not a smores person but I could eat a whole one of those all by myself.

It's called Sopapilla Cheesecake and it sounds amazing all by itself and it's simple to make.  What else could I ask for?  Since I'm trying to be healthy I did cut down the sugar.  Here's the recipe from My Yellow Umbrella

Ingredients:
-3 cans pillsbury butter crescent rolls
-2 (8oz) packages cream cheese (softened)
-1 cup sugar
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1/4 cup butter (melted)
-Cinnamon & sugar

Instructions:
Unrolled and spread 1 & 1/2 can crescent rolls on bottom of un-greased pan. Combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Spread mixture over crescent rolls. Unroll and spread remaining crescent rolls over mixture. Spread melted butter over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes

I used the crescent roll sheets and I only used 2.  One for the bottom and one for the top.  I also cut the sugar down to 1/2 a cup.  When I spread the cream cheese and sugar mixture I sprinkled 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of brown sugar.  Then I sprinkled it with 1 tbsp of cinnamon.

I also didn't use any butter.  The crecent rolls have so much in them anyway I left it out.  When it came out of the oven I dusted it with powdered sugar.

Can I just say this dessert will become a staple in my house because it is AWESOME!  Even my picky little man ate some of it.  I really love Pinterest.

I really hope you make it and enjoy.

Happy New Year to all of you!

Christmas Leave

Can I just say this Christmas is probably going to be one of the bests if not the best Christmas I have ever had?   True our family is not here but Gabe is!  His leave wasn't supossed to be until February but it got changed again; this time for the better!!!  I thought my Mom was coming up here after Christmas but she was just playing along with Gabe   Those two started scheming and let me believe she was coming up here when it was really Gabe.  I do have to say my husband is really amazing.  What a great Christmas present!

He sent me a bouquet of flowers and a card telling me he was on his way home.  We love Mad Gab so he wrote the note in that style and I had to figure it out.

Then I didn't get to talk to him for a few days so I wasn't really sure what was going on.  When I did get to talk to him he told me what was going on and I started smiling and I haven't stopped.  He got in late Saturday night.

We were told it would take a couple of days for Grayson to warm up to him but thank goodness it didn't.  After about 5 minutes of seeing Gabe and us doing some family hugs, Grayson decided he wanted his Dad to hold him.  He didn't really smile that big adorable smile of his but you could tell he was happy to see his Daddy.  I was holding him while Gabe went to the bathroom and Grayson started pointing toward it and calling Daddy.  Those two have a special bond.  I'm getting left out right now!  I wouldn't have any other way though.

The next two weeks are going to be amazing.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family up here in the North Pole!

Pinterest

I've noticed I've neglected my blog for a long time but I have a perfectly good excuse.  It's called Pinterest (click on this to experience this wonderful, time killing website).  If you haven't checked it out I suggest you do.  It will make your days full of laughter and keep you from doing what needs to be done at work and at home.  It is a great place to get ideas for your house, for gifts and just for things to do when you get bored.  I've bought stuff for my projects but between Grayson and playing on Pinterest I haven't found taken the time to do my projects.  One day soon I will.  I promise I will post about them.

Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving and are ready for CHRISTMAS!!!  I did and I am.  Super excited for this Christmas but a little sad spending it away from all my family.  Well I will bee spending it with my military family.  Thank God for these ladies.  They are a life saver.

Grayson is eating something he's not supposed too so I need to go.

Hope y'all have a good weekend!

Trick or Treating

This Halloween didn't net Momma much candy!  The reason:  It was below zero and Grayson could only stay out for three houses.   The first house gave us candy but we were nice and gave that candy to a friend because she ran out of candy.  We did this because I thought we would hit more houses but most were already out of candy.  One house gave us a toy.  The last house we went to had some candy and we only took a few pieces.  Maybe next year we will be somewhere warm so we can trick or treat without a snowsuit!

Hope you all have a good weekend!  I'm going to try to get back to typing Y'all!

Golf course

I decided to take the dogs for a walk the other day and went to the golf course on post.  It was very quiet and very beautiful.  So much white.  It's oretty amazing seeing all the animal tracks.  You would think, with it being so cold and so much snow not a lot would be out but there was.  I tried to take pictures of a fox but I couldn't get real close because of the dogs.

I also was playing around with my camera so some of the pictures are dark and some are really bright.  This place is the best place to take landscape pictures.  It's gorgeous up here.  I just wish it wasn't so cold so my hands wouldn't freeze while taking pictures!

I just want to decorate this tree!

I forgot to change my settings so it's really dark.

The fox watched us for a while.

Hope you all have a good weekend!  See I've been away from the South for too long I've stopped saying y'all!
