Yard Sale!!

Today was the post wide yard sale!!  The alarm went off at 6:30am and we left the house at 7:15.  One huge difference between yard sales up here and back in Mississippi was the time.  We got to the first sale about 7:30 and they were just beginning to put stuff out.  Back in MS, you would have to get there at 6 or earlier to get the best deals.  It was kinda of nice to sleep in and be the first ones there to get the deals.  We found a lot of stuff for the baby and some things for us.  Some prices were crazy!!  They wanted to sale used items you can't get here at full price and say they were saving you shipping, or they would tell you what they paid for it so you would think you were getting a better deal.  I noticed the men charged less than the women because they wanted everything to go.  If you live around a military installation and see a base wide yard sale GO!!!  See if you can find a family that is moving.  They usually try to sale everything, so they don't have to move it.  You can get some great deals!!

Poor Gabe!!  Since I'm no help building things outside, he has to build our garden and fill it in with soil.  I really wish I could help him.  At least he had Buster and Buddy!!  Both have been outside with him most of the time.  Buster is partly yellow now because of the pollen.  Yes the pollen is just now attacking us and it is beating me.  I've been sick all week.  I feel better today!!  Back to the garden.  We were told to use a raided bed because the soil is not good and because the ground may not get warm enough!!  It's May 15th and there are still some water that is frozen.  I really hope my garden grows so we shall see!!!

Wednesday night we went out to eat at a place called the Salmon Bake.  It was an outdoor restaurant that served Fried Halibut, Grilled Salmon or Prime Rib.  Sides included a salad bar and baked beans.  Then at the end you got coffee and dessert.  We laughed when we got there because it was all OUTSIDE BUFFET STYLE!!!!!  The customer had the choice to sit inside or outside.  We choose inside because the temp was only 50 degrees and the wind was blowing and we were COLD.  I am so ready for 90 degree days!!!!!

Now that it is warming up some we can explore more of the city and Alaska!!  I am so excited to start.  We are only two hours away from Denali so when the little one gets a few months old we can go!!!!

Hope you are having a good weekend!!
